FAT completed for drives upgrade at GERDAU Monroe Rolling Mill

In May, AIC North America Corp. team received the customer at the AIC Italy operations and electrical shop to execute Factory Acceptance Tests on drives for the revamping of stands 7-8 at the GERDAU Rolling mill in Monroe (Michigan, USA).

All AC drives panels for stands RB7 and RB8 will include Siemens components (n.2 SLM 1400 kW and n.4 S120 MM 1200 kW), with the option of being managed by a safety lockout station in the future. AIC will also upgrade the current SIEMENS PLC software to allow the new drives to be integrated into the existing automation system, including safety circuits.

This intervention represents the first order for a Gerdau GSN plant. Years of collaboration with the GERDAU Group globally attest to a strong bond and mutually beneficial relationship.
