AIC South America team has revamped Mill 2 in the Brazilian plant Cosigua for Gerdau Group, intervening on two strands for finishing blocks.
The project had included n. 2 ABB's ACS880 Multi drives with the 4000A low voltage each one that helped on scaling down energy and consumption while enhancing performance, and n.2 AC motors in tandem (2300kW each one).
Tests have reported great results and the plant ran smoothly in the master-slave configuration.
The supply scope expanded the availability of spare parts while also providing engineering and training.
It followed the job on the Brazilian Divinópolis site for the same customer. These latest projects remark the two companies' strong bond, a truly long-lasting relationship, with multiple projects completed in many of its plants in North and Latin America.
